Job summary
Placements24 seeks an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems for industrial plants in Richards Bay. You will work with process engineers to optimize control strategies and ensure safety and reliability of instrumentation and automation across operations.
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, minimum 4 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with Siemens/Rockwell PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering required.
- Minimum 4 years in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and DCS.
- Experience with SCADA and HMI design.
- Strong understanding of process control theory and loop tuning.
- On-site Richards Bay with possible site travel.
Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and implement instrumentation and control systems for industrial plants.
- Develop and maintain PLC/DCS programming and configuration for automation processes.
- Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instruments (sensors, transmitters, valves).
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety instrumented systems (SIS) where required.
- Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control strategies and improve plant efficiency.
- Prepare technical documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, and FDS.
