Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion seeks a Senior Information Security Engineer to strengthen and manage security infrastructure on-site. This role requires hands-on expertise to design, implement, and maintain advanced security solutions and address evolving cyber threats.

The successful candidate will lead technical security initiatives, collaborate with IT and development teams, and embed best practices into every project lifecycle while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in information security engineering or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security architecture and cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoints).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead security incident response activities.
• Automate security processes using scripting and tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security team members.
