About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Information Security Engineer to enhance their security infrastructure in Centurion . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions to protect the organization's sensitive data and systems. You will lead the technical aspects of security initiatives, working closely with IT and development teams to embed security best practices into all stages of the project lifecycle. This on-site position in Centurion requires a hands-on approach and deep technical expertise to address complex security challenges and maintain a strong defense against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
• Conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security risks.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead security incident response activities, ensuring timely and effective resolution of breaches.
• Automate security processes and tasks using scripting and relevant tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security engineering or a similar technical role.
• Extensive knowledge of network protocols, security architecture, and cloud security principles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Experience with security SIEM platforms and threat intelligence tools.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
