Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to lead facility layout and design initiatives in Randburg, Gauteng. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote analytical work to optimize layouts, material handling, and safety across South Africa.

The successful candidate will have a strong manufacturing and distribution background, with expertise in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools (Arena, AnyLogic). Hybrid work enables site engagement while enabling deep analysis.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
Minimum 6 years in industrial engineering with a focus on facility layout, design and material handling.
Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools (Arena, AnyLogic).
Strong understanding of manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations.
Lean Manufacturing experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Analyze current facility layouts, material flow and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
Design optimized layouts using CAD software and simulation tools.
Develop material handling strategies and automation integration.
Collaborate with operations, safety and maintenance to meet requirements.
Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new designs.
Develop detailed plans, specifications and cost estimates for projects.
Ensure designs comply with safety regulations and codes.
Oversee implementation and provide technical support.
Perform time and motion studies to validate improvements.
Present proposals and updates to senior management.
