Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer focused on facilities and layout design to join our Sandton team. You will design, optimize, and manage the layout of manufacturing plants, warehouses, and other facilities to maximize safety, efficiency, and workflow.

The role requires strong spatial reasoning, process optimization, and experience with CAD and simulation tools to create optimal spatial arrangements and material flow paths. Hybrid work and project opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in facility layout design and optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (Arena, FlexSim).
• Strong understanding of material handling systems, ergonomics, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed facility layouts and material flow plans using CAD and simulation software.
• Analyze space utilization and identify optimization opportunities in warehouses and production areas.
• Design efficient material handling systems and workstation layouts.
• Ensure facility designs comply with safety regulations, ergonomic principles, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with construction, operations, and maintenance teams during facility planning and execution.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement improvements to enhance worker safety and comfort.
