Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Chemical Engineer for our client in East London. You will optimize industrial processes, enhance safety, and lead operations initiatives on-site in the Eastern Cape. Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership are essential.

The role focuses on process optimization, hazard analyses, and collaboration with R&D and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 6+ years of experience in industrial chemical engineering or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes and safety standards.
• Experience with simulation software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize industrial chemical processes to maximize efficiency, yield, and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues, identify root causes and solutions.
• Participate in PHAs and ensure safety/regulatory compliance.
• Support process improvement projects, including debottlenecking and equipment upgrades.
• Develop and maintain process documentation (operating procedures and P&IDs).
• Provide technical support to plant operators and maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering on new product introductions and process modifications.
• Monitor plant performance metrics and identify areas for continuous improvement.
