Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior HVAC Technician for a leading critical infrastructure provider in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of complex HVAC systems in high-availability environments to protect sensitive equipment.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of industrial/commercial HVAC experience, a recognised HVAC trade certification, and strong knowledge of BMS and DDC controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an HVAC Technician, with focus on industrial or critical systems.
• Trade certification or equivalent qualification in HVAC or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems and building automation.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with BMS and DDC is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Flexible hours including weekends and on-call duties.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine preventative maintenance to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an HVAC Technician, with a significant portion focused on industrial or commercial critical systems.


• Trade certification or equivalent qualification in HVAC or a related field.


• Extensive knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and building automation controls.


• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.


• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.


• Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) and DDC (Direct Digital Controls) is highly desirable.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.


• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.
