About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Systems Technician to join their facilities management team in Vereeniging, Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of complex HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and control systems.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing to ensure peak operational efficiency and prevent system failures.
• Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
• Install and commission new HVAC equipment and systems as required.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Manage work orders, maintain accurate service logs, and document all maintenance and repair performed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to HVAC operations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and building operations staff.
• Respond to emergency service calls to address critical HVAC system issues promptly.
• Optimize system performance through regular calibration and adjustments of control parameters.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior HVAC Technician or similar role, with a strong background in commercial or industrial systems.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, and building automation systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of HVAC systems.
• Experience with a variety of HVAC equipment brands and types.
• Ability to read and understand complex schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in HVAC (e.g., NTC, City & Guilds).
• A valid driver's license is required for on-site service calls.
• Willingness to work on-site in Vereeniging and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency services.
