Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanical Engineer in Mossel Bay to design, develop, and implement efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial buildings.

You will perform load calculations, equipment selection, and project oversight, ensuring energy efficiency and indoor air quality across projects within the Western Cape. Strong collaboration with design teams is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and engineering.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, Trane Trace) and knowledge of codes (ASHRAE).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Perform load calculations, airflow analysis, and thermal comfort studies.
• Select HVAC equipment considering performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Develop detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and contractors for integration.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
