Placements24 seeks a Mechanical Systems Engineer with HVAC expertise to design, implement and optimize complex HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects in Stellenbosch. You will work with architects, project managers and construction teams to deliver integrated mechanical solutions.

The role emphasizes sustainable building design, energy efficiency and compliance with building codes, offering a collaborative and growth-focused environment for a seasoned engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with HVAC specialization.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software and CFD analysis.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and building science.
• Familiarity with building codes and energy efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems including AHUs, chillers, boilers, ductwork and controls.
• Perform load calculations, airflow analysis and energy modeling.
• Specify HVAC equipment and components per project requirements.
• Develop P&IDs, schematics, specifications and construction drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams during installation, commissioning and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC performance and maintenance issues.
