Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead HVAC projects from our Centurion office. This senior role guides a team of engineers through design, development, and construction of complex systems, with a strong focus on energy efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC or Building Services), 10+ years in HVAC design and project management, Pr.Eng registration is desirable, and proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and energy simulation

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with HVAC or Building Services specialization.
• Minimum of 10 years in HVAC system design and project management in the building industry.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Expertise in HVAC design software (Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, HAP) and energy simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical direction and performance feedback.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems and products.
• Ensure designs meet all functional, performance, regulatory, and safety requirements.
• Develop project specifications, detailed drawings, and calculations for HVAC systems.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless project integration and client satisfaction.
• Perform energy modeling and analysis to identify opportunities for system optimization and sustainability improvements.
