The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in HSE leadership, extensive knowledge of SA legislation, and professional certifications (NEBOSH/SAMTRAC).

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• NEBOSH or SAMTRAC certification preferred.
• Proven experience in HSE management in energy/industrial sectors.

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to oversee the implementation and enforcement of robust HSE strategies for our projects located in and around Mahikeng, North West . This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of HSE regulations, risk management, and best practices within the industrial and energy sectors. You will be responsible for leading the HSE team, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel, minimizing environmental impact, and maintaining compliance with all legal and company standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to drive a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and programs for all project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and identify potential hazards.
• Lead and mentor the HSE team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors.
• Manage environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization, encouraging hazard reporting and safety awareness.
• Maintain HSE performance records and prepare regular reports for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in HSE management, preferably within the energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry standards (e.g., OHS Act, NEMA).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Relevant professional qualifications or certifications (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH) are highly desirable.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
