Placements24 seeks an experienced HSE Manager for our client in the Oil & Gas sector, based in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives, develop policies, and drive safety culture across operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in HSE, with at least 5 years in management within Oil & Gas. You will oversee risk assessments, training, audits, and regulatory compliance, shaping the company’s safety and environmental strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in OHS, environmental or related field.
• 10+ years in HSE management, 5+ years in a managerial role within Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the HSE management system.
• Ensure compliance with national and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate HSE risks.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Develop emergency preparedness and response plans.

About the Role

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards (e.g., OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and best practices.
• Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety program development.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective HSE strategies and policies.
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
• Proficiency in HSE management software and reporting tools.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting a strong safety culture.
• Experience working in South African industrial environments is advantageous.
