About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior HSE Officer to champion health, safety, and environmental standards within their operations near Bloemfontein . This role is critical for ensuring a safe working environment, compliance with all relevant regulations, and the promotion of a strong safety culture across all project sites. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, managing incident investigations, and delivering safety training. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in HSE management within the Oil & Gas industry or related heavy industries, demonstrating a deep commitment to preventing accidents and protecting the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Lead and manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs to all levels of staff and contractors.
• Monitor environmental performance, manage waste disposal, and ensure compliance with environmental permits.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication, and visible leadership.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE management , preferably within the Oil & Gas industry or construction.
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry best practices.
• Certification such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH International General Certificate is highly desirable.
• Strong experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response planning.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
