Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role is hybrid, overseeing HSE compliance across multiple project sites and the central office, developing and monitoring strategies, and promoting a strong safety culture.

You will conduct risk assessments, investigations, and training, ensure alignment with SA HSE legislation and ISO standards, and liaise with project teams, contractors, and regulators to minimize risk and support South Africa's

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years in HSE advisory roles, preferably in energy or construction.
• Experience implementing HSE management systems (ISO 14001/45001).
• Strong knowledge of South African HSE legislation (OHS Act, NEMA).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage HSE management systems and procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes with corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs.
• Ensure compliance with SA HSE legislation and standards.
• Advise project teams and contractors on HSE matters.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and leadership.
• Prepare HSE reports and KPI metrics for management.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Stay updated with evolving HSE regulations and trends in energy.
