Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support offshore and onshore projects, mainly in Randburg, Gauteng. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, conduct site inspections, and provide expert guidance to project teams.

The role requires a degree or diploma in OH&S, at least five years in HSE, and knowledge of OHS Act and NEMA. Offshore experience is a plus; hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HSE, oil & gas or construction.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation (OHS Act, NEMA) and best practices.
• Proven experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage HSE management systems and plans for projects.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate controls.
• Investigate HSE incidents, near misses, and accidents with detailed reporting.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Advise management and teams on HSE best practices and legal requirements.
• Maintain HSE documentation including risk assessments, safety procedures, and emergency plans.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all project activities.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and clients on HSE matters.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and provide regular reports.
