Placements24 is seeking a diligent HSE Advisor for Vereeniging, Gauteng. This hybrid role combines field site presence with regional office duties to develop and monitor HSE policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, deliver safety training, and maintain ISO 45001/ISO 14001 standards across Gauteng operations. Strong communication and travel to sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environment, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an HSE role within oil and gas.
• Sound knowledge of SA HSE legislation and regulations.
• Experience in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001/ISO 14001 standards.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Hybrid work balance between site visits and office duties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the HSE management system.
• Conduct site inspections and audits for compliance.
• Assist in HSE training for employees and contractors.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; identify root causes.
• Monitor environmental performance and compliance with permits.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and leadership.
• Prepare HSE reports with metrics, summaries, and audit findings.
• Advise management on HSE risks and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure emergency plans are in place and tested; stay updated on regulations.
