Placements24 is seeking an HSE Advisor to support field operations in Soweto. The role blends on-site inspections with remote report-writing and training development, focusing on HSE policy implementation and hazard control.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in OHS, environmental management, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in an HSE role in oil & gas or related industry.
• Knowledge of South African HSE legislation and international standards.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigations.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with on-site and remote duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure HSE compliance.
• Assist in developing and implementing HSE management systems.
• Identify hazards and risks and recommend control measures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, documenting findings and recommendations.
• Develop and deliver HSE training for employees and contractors.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and communication.
• Prepare HSE reports with performance metrics and trend analysis.
• Advise management and operations on HSE matters.
• Ensure compliance with environmental protection requirements.
