Job summary

Top Recruitment is seeking a senior HR/IR professional to lead industrial relations and human resources across a unionised environment in Durban. You will represent the company at CCMA proceedings, manage disciplinary processes and advise management on labour matters, while coordinating recruitment, onboarding and HR administration.

The role requires extensive CCMA experience, strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, and a deep understanding of SA labour legislation.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in HR/IR or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Human Resources / Industrial Relations.
• 7–8 years' proven experience representing companies at the CCMA is essential.
• Strong experience in a unionised environment and with collective bargaining.
• Solid knowledge of Labour Legislation including LRA, BCEA, EEA, OHSA, COIDA.
• Excellent disciplinary and grievance procedures knowledge and practice.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and employee-relations skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company at the CCMA, including conciliations, arbitrations and related proceedings.
• Prepare and manage CCMA cases with documentation and evidence.
• Provide advice to management on labour and employee-relations matters.
• Manage disciplinary hearings, grievances and incapacity processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and SA labour law.
• Investigate employee complaints, disputes and misconduct allegations.
• Maintain relationships with employees and trade union reps.
• Engage with organised labour on workplace matters.
• Represent the company during wage negotiations and collective bargaining.
• Assist with implementation and interpretation of collective agreements.
• Recruitment process management and related HR administration.
• Onboarding, induction and staff records management.
• Support performance management, attendance, leave and HR admin.
