Job summary

Craven Cottage CC is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily operations in our Gauteng hotel. You will oversee staff, scheduling, training, and performance management to ensure service standards.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with Front Office, Maintenance, and vendors. You will manage budgets, inventory, and safety compliance while maintaining guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent.
• Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years supervisory experience in housekeeping operations.
• Computer knowledge and MS Office programs.
• Able to supervise staff and monitor performance against defined standards.
• Good time management and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all housekeeping staff and ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping team members.
• Conduct regular staff appraisals and provide performance feedback.
• Schedule employees and assign duties based on occupancy forecasts.
• Maintain accurate time records for all departmental employees.
• Foster staff morale and recognise exceptional performance.
• Develop housekeeping systems, procedures, and cleaning standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance on requests and issues.
• Oversee special projects including refurbishment and deep-cleaning initiatives.
