Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our cutting-edge product development team in Sandton. This hybrid role blends remote design work with on-site collaboration to drive the conception, design, and testing of electronic hardware for advanced products.

You will lead schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware validation, collaborating closely with software teams and manufacturing partners to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hardware design and product development experience.
• Expertise in schematic design and PCB layout using industry tools.
• Strong digital/analog circuit design, power management and signal integrity.
• Experience with hardware debugging tools and test methodologies.
• Ability to work in a hybrid, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex electronic circuits and systems (schematic capture and PCB layout).
• Select components for performance, cost, and availability; ensure DFx.
• Conduct hardware testing, bring-up, validation, and performance characterization.
• Collaborate with firmware/software engineers for hardware/software integration.
• Troubleshoot issues and support manufacturing partners for ramp-up.
