Job summary

ACCIONA Energía invites a Senior Grid Connection Engineer to lead technical studies for renewable projects in South Africa. You will oversee congestion analyses, network capacity assessments, and grid-code compliance to secure energization and COD within planned timelines.

You will review vendor specifications, coordinate with Eskom and external consultants, and contribute to CAPEX estimation through detailed modelling in PSCAD and PowerFactory, ensuring safe integration of wind and solar assets.

Qualifications

• BSc Engineering (Electrical); MEng is advantageous.
• PrEng registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency with Power Factory and PSCAD.
• Strong knowledge of SA Grid Codes and sub-Saharan regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead congestion and grid studies during the investment decision process.
• Review information from Eskom and assess grid connection feasibility.
• Coordinate with OEMs, consultants and grid operators to ensure compliance.
• Support energization and COD timing through in-house studies and modelling.
