Job summary

ACCIONA Energía is actively seeking an Electrical Grid Connection Engineer to lead technical studies and grid code compliance for South Africa projects. You will coordinate with consultants and OEMs to ensure energization and COD within project timelines, addressing congestion analyses, power flow, and short-circuit studies.

Required qualifications include a BSc in Electrical Engineering, PrEng registration preferred, and proficiency with Power Factory and PSCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications to quantify annual restrictions/curtailments from evacuation constraints in the network.
• Lead evaluation and management of power system consultants for SA projects.
• Review grid connection information (Cost Estimation Letters, Budget Quotes) from Eskom and ensure energization/COD within proposed timelines.
• Support design of inverters, wind turbines, and connection equipment to meet Grid Code requirements and compute project capex.
