Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for geotechnical and foundation work in Midrand, Gauteng. You will oversee projects from planning through construction, liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure milestones are met and high quality standards are maintained.

The role requires a BEng Civil with geotechnical specialization and Pr.Eng registration with ECSA, plus a minimum of 7 years in relevant projects. On-site leadership and travel to site locations are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of geotechnical and foundation engineering project management experience.
• Registration as Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) with ECSA is essential.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
• Strong knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and foundation design.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical and foundation projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate site investigations, drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Review geotechnical data and prepare reports.
• Develop foundation designs (piled, raft, ground improvement) and guide construction.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources; liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
