Job summary
Placements24 in Sandton seeks an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to infrastructure projects across Gauteng and beyond. You will manage geotechnical investigations, analyze site conditions, and provide design recommendations for foundations, slopes, and earthworks.
The ideal candidate has a BEng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical), Pr Eng or Candidate Engineer with at least 6 years of experience, and proficiency in GeoStudio or Plaxis.
Qualifications
- BEng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical focus.
- ECSA registration as Pr Eng or Candidate Engineer.
- Minimum 6 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Experience with GeoStudio and Plaxis software.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage geotechnical site investigations.
- Analyze soil and rock data to assess properties and risks.
- Provide design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks.
- Perform stability analyses for slopes and excavations.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and present findings to clients and project teams.
- Oversee construction quality control for earthworks and foundations.
