Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations and designs for major infrastructure projects in Bloemfontein and beyond, delivering robust foundation solutions and safe structures in a remote-first, collaborative team.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering, Pr. Eng. with ECSA, 10+ years of experience on large projects, and strong leadership, modeling skills, and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is essential.
• 10+ years of geotechnical experience on major projects.
• Strong skills in advanced numerical modeling and geotechnical analysis software.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations for major infrastructure and building projects.
• Interpret subsurface data and develop design recommendations.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stabilization.
• Review and approve reports, drawings, and specs.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineers.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and regulators on geotechnical challenges.
