Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a distinguished Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead the geotechnical services division in Pretoria. The role focuses on delivering ground engineering solutions for infrastructure and development projects across Gauteng and beyond.
You will manage complex investigations, design foundations, earthworks, slope stability measures, and provide expert advice on ground improvement, seismic analysis, and earthquake engineering where applicable. Mentoring senior staff is expected.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialization.
- Pr.Eng with ECSA registration is mandatory.
- 9+ years of extensive geotechnical experience with project leadership.
- Expertise in soil and rock mechanics, foundation engineering and numerical modeling.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS and GeoStudio.
- Strong report writing, presentation and project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee geotechnical investigations including site characterization and data analysis.
- Design foundations (shallow and deep), retaining structures and slope stabilization.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, design recommendations and specifications.
