Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Richards Bay team, focusing on critical energy projects. You will assess ground conditions, advise on foundations and site improvements, and provide on-site support during construction to ensure safety and integrity across major developments.

The role demands 10+ years in geotechnical engineering, with expertise in numerical modeling (Plaxis, GeoStudio) and a Master's degree (PhD preferred).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering; PhD a plus.
• Minimum 10 years in geotechnical engineering on large-scale energy projects.
• Expertise in Plaxis and GeoStudio; strong soil mechanics knowledge.
• Strong report writing, presentation and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site reconnaissance, borehole drilling supervision, and lab testing interpretation.
• Perform slope stability, foundation settlement, and seismic analyses.
• Develop design recommendations for foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, specifications and design documents.
• Provide on-site technical support during construction phases.
• Collaborate with structural, civil engineers and project managers.
