Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support critical energy infrastructure projects around Pretoria. You will conduct site investigations, analyze soil and rock conditions, and guide design and construction activities for power plants, substations, and renewables.

Strong reporting and teamwork are essential. Applicants should have a geotechnical focus with 4+ years of experience and proficiency in Plaxis, GeoStudio, and SLOPE/W, along with a solid understanding of soil and foundation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute subsurface investigations, including drilling and sampling.
• Perform geotechnical laboratory testing and analysis.
• Develop foundation designs for energy infrastructure projects.
• Conduct slope stability, settlement, and seismic assessments.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports with recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers and construction teams.
