About the Role

Our client, a major player in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geoscientist to join their exploration and production team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. This role is integral to understanding and characterizing subsurface reservoirs, utilizing advanced seismic interpretation and geological modeling techniques. The Senior Geoscientist will be responsible for integrating diverse subsurface datasets, identifying potential hydrocarbon plays, and assessing geological risks associated with exploration and development projects. You will work closely with reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and other geoscientists to deliver high-quality subsurface interpretations that drive informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed seismic data interpretation, including structural and stratigraphic analysis.
• Integrate well log, core, and other geological/geophysical data to build comprehensive subsurface models.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in oil and gas exploration or development geoscience.
• Proven expertise in seismic interpretation, well correlation, and subsurface mapping.
• Proficiency with leading geoscience software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and petroleum systems.
• Experience with geological modeling and uncertainty quantification.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience within the Southern African geological context is advantageous.
