About the Role

Our client, a distinguished exploration and production company, is actively seeking a Senior Geoscientist with a specialization in seismic interpretation. This pivotal role is based in Benoni, Gauteng , and will involve the analysis of complex subsurface datasets to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon resources. You will be responsible for integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data to create robust subsurface models and guide exploration and development activities. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with modern seismic data processing and interpretation techniques, coupled with a strong understanding of basin analysis and structural geology. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in seismic interpretation and subsurface characterization within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, and velocity modeling.
• Proficiency with leading interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and petroleum systems.
• Experience in prospect evaluation and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Superior communication and interpersonal abilities, with strong presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
