About the Role

Our client, a dynamic international Oil & Gas company, is seeking an experienced Senior Petroleum Geoscientist with a specialization in seismic interpretation to join their team in Klerksdorp, North West . This critical role will involve the analysis and interpretation of complex seismic datasets to identify and de-risk hydrocarbon prospects. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating seismic data with other geological and geophysical information to build robust subsurface models and contribute significantly to exploration and development strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation to identify structural and stratigraphic traps.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information to build comprehensive subsurface models.
• Utilize advanced seismic processing and interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, DecisionSpace).
• Evaluate and de-risk exploration prospects and existing fields based on geological and geophysical evidence.
• Collaborate with exploration teams, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to support project objectives.
• Contribute to the generation of new exploration leads and drill well targets.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration and development decisions.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and share technical expertise within the team.
• Stay abreast of the latest seismic imaging technologies and interpretation methodologies.
• Participate in peer reviews and technical workshops.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in seismic interpretation within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation and modeling software.
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and attribute analysis techniques.
• Proven ability to interpret complex geological settings and identify potential hydrocarbon plays.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information.
• Experience in basin analysis and prospect evaluation is highly desirable.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
