• Master's or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of seismic data interpretation experience in Oil & Gas exploration.
• Proficiency in industry-standard seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Geovation).
• Strong understanding of seismic wave propagation, data acquisition methods, and processing algorithms.
• Experience with AVO analysis, seismic inversion, and structural interpretation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

About the Role

Our client, a leading exploration and production company within the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist with a specialization in seismic data analysis. This role is based in our Centurion office and is integral to identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reserves. You will be responsible for processing, interpreting, and integrating seismic data to generate high-quality subsurface models. This position requires a strong analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of geophysical principles and advanced processing techniques. The ideal candidate will work closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other geoscientists to contribute to the company's exploration strategy and success. This is a hands-on role requiring physical presence in the office to leverage our state-of-the-art computing facilities and collaborate directly with team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, quality control, and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data sets for exploration and development projects.
• Utilize advanced seismic attributes and inversion techniques to delineate geological structures and reservoir properties.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in seismic data interpretation within the Oil & Gas exploration sector.
• Proficiency in industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Geovation).
• Strong understanding of seismic wave propagation, data acquisition methods, and processing algorithms.
• Experience with various seismic techniques, including AVO analysis, seismic inversion, and structural interpretation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.

• Must be willing to work on-site at our Centurion office.
• Experience with South African geological basins is a plus.
