RPO Recruitment’s client, an established building contractor in Cape Town, seeks a Senior Foreman – Structures to oversee structural construction on large-scale projects. The role focuses on concrete works and coordination of site teams.

You will supervise foremen, manage resources, ensure safety, and align activities with drawings and schedules. Applicants should have extensive hands-on experience and a track record with Tier 1 contractors.

Qualifications

Job description

RPO Recruitment’s client, an established building contractor in Cape Town is looking for experienced Senior Foremen – Structures to oversee structural construction activities on large-scale building projects.

The ideal candidates will have extensive hands‑on experience in concrete construction and wet trades, together with the ability to coordinate site teams and supervise other foremen on complex projects, including multi‑storey buildings and large‑footprint warehouse developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate structural works, including concrete and associated wet trades.
• Manage and allocate site labour, equipment and materials.
• Oversee teams of foremen and ensure construction activities are properly coordinated.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship and adherence to construction programmes.
• Ensure structural work is completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Site Agents and other project personnel.
• Enforce health and safety requirements and maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Identify and resolve site‑related challenges to keep construction activities on schedule.

Requirements:

• Relevant trade test qualification.
• At least 15 years’ experience in building construction.
• Strong background in concrete works, structural construction and wet trades.
• Experience with Tier 1 construction contractors.
• Proven exposure to multi‑storey buildings, warehouses and large‑scale developments.
• Previous experience supervising teams of foremen and coordinating substantial site operations.
• Strong leadership, planning and problem‑solving skills.
