Job summary

Pronel Consultants in Camperdown, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to take full accountability for a fleet exceeding 350 vehicles. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management, with proven experience managing a large fleet (>200 vehicles).
• Experience in security, high-availability, or fast-paced operational environments is highly advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with external workshops, parts procurement, and inventory control.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and dedicated Fleet/Fuel Management software.

Responsibilities

• Direct full lifecycle management of 350+ operational vehicles (cars, bakkies, response units, patrol vehicles).
• Ensure all fleet vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant, insured, licensed and operational.
• Monitor vehicle allocation, utilization, mileage, and site availability across regions.
• Maintain fleet registers, service histories, licensing documents, and compliance records.
• Enforce fleet policies, SOPs, and driver usage regulations.
• Track and monitor fuel usage via cards, telemetry, and logs; address anomalies.
• Oversee mechanical servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance; ensure quick turnaround.
• Direct procurement for spares, parts, and consumables; manage stock levels and audits.
• Evaluate, source, and manage vendors; negotiate SLAs and repair turnaround times.
• Ensure compliance with traffic legislation, licensing, insurance; manage incident reporting and claims.
• Prepare executive reports on availability, fuel spend, maintenance costs, and savings.
