Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Fleet Manager to oversee a large commercial fleet around Pretoria. You will drive maintenance programs, supervise drivers, and manage costs while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance to support logistics operations.

The ideal candidate will have deep vehicle knowledge, experience with fleet software, and strong leadership and communication skills to optimize performance and reliability in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet management, preferably with a large commercial fleet.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
• A valid driver’s license is essential; PrDP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for the entire fleet.
• Manage all aspects of vehicle acquisition, disposal, and registration processes.
• Supervise and train drivers on safe operating procedures, compliance, and performance standards.
• Monitor fuel consumption, repair costs, and other fleet expenses to identify areas for cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with all national and provincial transportation regulations and licensing requirements.
• Investigate and resolve all vehicle incidents, accidents, and driver-related issues promptly.
