Placements24 seeks a Senior Fleet Operations Manager to oversee a large regional fleet in George, Western Cape. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, optimize routes, schedule maintenance, ensure compliance, and drive cost efficiency with data-driven insights.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7+ years in fleet management or transport operations, with strong leadership and communication skills. Relocation support may be available for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years in fleet management or transportation operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of fleet management systems and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance fleet efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee daily fleet management including driver scheduling, dispatch, and routing.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, transport laws and environmental standards.
• Manage maintenance program, preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Lead and mentor drivers and operational staff, promoting performance and safety.
• Monitor fleet metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
• Utilize fleet management software and technologies to optimize operations.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for maintenance and fuel supplies.
• Develop contingency plans for disruptions and emergencies.
• Contribute to long-term fleet strategy and modernization initiatives.
