Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Fleet Manager to lead the end-to-end management of a large, diverse fleet in Sandton, Gauteng. You will optimize operations, drive cost efficiencies and ensure top safety and regulatory compliance across our vehicle assets.

The role demands 7+ years in fleet management, including 3+ years in a senior-capacity, with strong leadership and budgeting abilities. You will manage a team and collaborate with procurement and operations to enhance performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in fleet management with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Experience managing large fleets of commercial vehicles.
• Strong budget, financial analysis and procurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifecycle of the fleet, incl. acquisition, maintenance and disposal.
• Develop and implement fleet management policies to optimize performance and costs.
• Lead a team of fleet technicians, dispatchers and drivers.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, licensing and insurance.
• Negotiate contracts for fuel, parts, and maintenance.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Utilize fleet management software to monitor performance and maintenance.
• Analyze fleet data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and manage the annual fleet budget.
