Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or a similar operational role.
• Strong understanding of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software, telematics systems, and GPS tracking platforms.
• Excellent remote communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a distributed team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with South African transport regulations is advantageous.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace suitable for remote work.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive operational data.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fleet performance in real-time using telematics and GPS tracking systems.
• Coordinate vehicle dispatch and routing to ensure maximum efficiency and on-time deliveries across all operational areas.
• Manage driver schedules, assignments, and communication, ensuring compliance with labor laws and driving hour regulations.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs, and ensure all fleet vehicles are in safe and compliant operating condition.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet operations, including mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance history, and incident reports.
• Act as a primary point of contact for drivers, providing support, addressing concerns, and resolving operational issues remotely.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and governmental compliance requirements for the fleet.
• Analyze fleet data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Liaise with clients regarding delivery status updates and operational logistics as needed.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of fleet management strategies and best practices.
