Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS.
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance to senior management.
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, collaborating with various departments to achieve financial goals.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial accounting.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Strong understanding of South African tax laws and company law.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
