Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event Operations Manager for a premier conference and banqueting venue in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on end-to-end event execution, from planning to post-event analysis, coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings at least five years in event management, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in event software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in event management or operations.
• Proven track record managing a diverse range of events.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as dictated by event schedules.
• A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all logistical aspects of event execution, including setup, breakdown, and on‑site management.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during events, ensuring their needs are met.
• Coordinate with F&B, AV, security, and housekeeping departments to ensure smooth event flow.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring quality service delivery.
• Develop detailed event run sheets and timelines for all scheduled events.
• Conduct post‑event evaluations and solicit client feedback for continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to all venue policies, health and safety regulations.
• Manage event budgets and track expenses to ensure profitability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any on‑site issues that may arise during events.
