Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Catering Coordinator in Cape Town to oversee end-to-end catering for a range of events, from intimate gatherings to large corporate functions. You will be the primary client contact, coordinating with the culinary team to translate visions into exceptional dining experiences and ensuring flawless on-site execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in event coordination within catering or hospitality.
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong client-facing communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Hospitality or event management background preferred for Cape Town-based role.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all logistical aspects of catered events, including venue setup, staffing, equipment, and menu execution.
• Serve as the main liaison between clients and the catering team, ensuring clear communication of requirements.
• Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and floor layouts.
• Manage event budgets within financial parameters.
• Oversee on-site event execution and proactively resolve issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout planning and execution.
• Conduct post-event debriefs with clients and the team to gather feedback and identify improvements.
