Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Catering Manager in Cape Town to lead a team delivering flawless catering experiences for diverse clients, from corporate functions to weddings and galas.

The role requires 7+ years in event management with at least 3 years in a senior position, strong budgeting skills, and deep knowledge of F&B operations and client service. Travel within the Western Cape may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in event management and catering, incl. 3+ years in a management role.
• Proven track record of managing complex events in Cape Town or a similar metropolitan area.
• Strong understanding of event planning logistics, food & beverage management, and client services.
• Solid budgeting, cost control, and P&L experience.
• Excellent leadership and communication, able to inspire and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of event catering operations from client consultation to post-event analysis.
• Lead and motivate catering staff, event coordinators, and service personnel to high performance and service levels.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, understanding needs and exceeding expectations for events.
• Collaborate with culinary team to design menus and ensure high quality food & beverage service.
• Manage event budgets, costing, pricing, and financial reporting for profitability.
• Coordinate site inspections and venue logistics for smooth execution.
• Implement quality control and health & safety standards across operations.
