Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead energy services for mining operations in Rustenburg. The role requires strategic leadership to optimize energy usage, control budgets, and maintain safety and environmental standards across large-scale sites.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Engineering or Operations Management, with 10+ years in mining or heavy industry operations, and proven P&L management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or Operations Management.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management in mining or heavy industry.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale operational budgets and P&L responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of industrial energy systems, maintenance, and operational best practices.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage safety and environmental compliance in a high-risk industry.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage day-to-day operations of energy supply and management systems for mining sites.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance reliability.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies across all operations.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditure for the operations division.
• Lead and develop a team of operational staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with key stakeholders, including mine management, regulatory bodies, and suppliers, to ensure seamless operations.
