Job summary

Arup in Johannesburg seeks a Senior Energy Design Consultant to lead multi-disciplinary energy projects, focusing on PV, wind, storage, and micro-grid solutions. You will drive technical advisory, project management, and business development while mentoring junior engineers across the South Africa offices.

You will contribute to client engagements, bid preparation, and technical reports, leveraging expertise in renewable energy and decarbonisation.

Qualifications

• B.Eng./BSc in Electrical engineering with professional registration (ECSA).
• Recognisable knowledge in energy sector with exposure to renewables and decarbonisation.
• Proj. management experience and ability to lead technical advisory, owner's engineer and design services in renewables.
• Prepare and manage bids, proposals and write technical reports and presentations.
• Provide inputs for governance and drive junior energy team development.
• Lead and mentor energy team across SA offices with commercial guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver energy projects in PV, wind, storage, green hydrogen and micro-grid sectors.
• Support business development and project management across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Coordinate client-facing activities and ensure technical advisory quality for clients.
