Job summary

Arup seeks a Senior Project Manager with energy and infrastructure expertise to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects across the Built Environment. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, risk management and delivery from design through construction and quality assurance.

Based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, you will collaborate with clients and Arup teams, manage risks, ensure compliance with standards and permits, and drive overall project success using Arup’s knowledge network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and Pr Eng registration; Master’s degree advantageous.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and SACPCMP certifications are desirable.
• Experience in renewable energy sector (wind, solar, and other sustainable power projects) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project execution plans to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with clients and Arup teams to integrate technical activities and achieve project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, legal regulations, environmental requirements and permits.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining relationships with governments, communities, suppliers, contractors and team members.
• Drive quality control measures to meet performance objectives and oversee project progress and reporting.
• Apply energy and infrastructure knowledge, leveraging Arup’s knowledge network to adopt best practices.
