Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a security technician in Polokwane to maintain electronic security equipment and build strong client relationships. You will ensure compliance with SLAs and health and safety regulations while managing documentation and fault reporting.

Standby availability may be required. The role emphasizes attention to detail, effective communication, and hands-on installation and troubleshooting of access control and IP surveillance systems.

Qualifications

• PSIRA certification required.
• Sound knowledge of access control and IP surveillance systems.
• General understanding of network concepts is advantageous.
• SQL knowledge would be advantageous.
• Milestone experience is advantageous.
• Excellent security equipment installation skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronic security equipment and related systems.
• Regular communication with clients and relationship development.
• Detail-oriented across responsibilities and documentation.
• Adhere to client and company agreements and SLA requirements.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations.
• Provide feedback to the SLA Manager.
• Manage small projects and related documentation.
• Control and maintain documentation registers, overtime, and route sheets.
• Submit fault reports on the system.
• Review Work in Progress reports and their financial implications.
• Be available on standby when required.
