Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a Security Manager to lead security operations, conduct risk assessments, and maintain client relationships. You will manage manpower and equipment, compile routine reports, and ensure compliance with contractual and ISO standards.

The role requires PSIRA Grade A, Grade 12, firearm competency, and managerial experience. Strong communication, bilingual ability, and MS Office literacy are essential, with after-hours standby duties as needed.

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A certification is mandatory.
• Grade 12 (or equivalent) is required.
• Firearm competency and Regulation 21 certificate are advantageous.
• Handgun, shotgun and rifle training is advantageous.
• Experience in a managerial or similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of risk management and IT disruption contingency planning.
• Knowledge of access security systems and controls.
• Confident in dealing with the public.
• First aid and fire training are advantageous.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Bilingual with English and another SA language.
• Computer literacy (MS Office) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide security advice to clients and manage relationships.
• Conduct threat and risk assessments for clients.
• Oversee manpower and equipment management and rostering.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Address and manage client complaints.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met at all times.
• Maintain ISO 9001 quality system compliance.
• Initiate and chair disciplinary hearings as needed.
• Oversee Health and Safety management.
• Ensure SOPs are followed and training is conducted.
• Attend meetings and respond to urgent matters on rest days.
• Standby manager for after-hour visits and shift changes.
