Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin in South Africa is seeking a Security Manager to lead client liaison, risk assessments, and daily reporting at our site.

You will manage manpower rostering, equipment, and ensure compliance with ISO standards, company SOPs, health and safety policies, and disciplinary procedures.

The role requires PSIRA Grade A, Grade 12, firearm competency, MS Office, and at least three years in a managerial security position; a clean record and own transport are essential.

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade A certification required.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Up-to-date firearm competency (Rifle, Shotgun and Handgun).
• Minimum three years in a managerial or similar security role.
• First aid and fire-fighting training advantageous.
• Ability to communicate and present at all levels; perform under pressure.
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to health and safety and ISO policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide security advice to clients and liaison with them.
• Conduct threat and risk assessments and reporting.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Manage client relationships and professional liaison.
• Oversee manpower management and rostering.
• Manage equipment and company vehicle control.
• Address client complaints effectively and promptly.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met at all times.
• Investigate incidents, report and manage outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with disciplinary code and ISO quality system.
• Initiate and chair disciplinary hearings as needed.
• Ensure SOPs are followed and trainings occur when required.
• Provide after-hour support as standby manager; attend CCMA when required.
• Ensure policies are implemented and adhered to.
