Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a skilled security installation technician in Gauteng. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining electronic security equipment, building strong client relationships, and ensuring adherence to agreements and safety regulations.

The role requires PSIRA certification, a Grade 12, a valid driver’s license and a proven track record in the electronics security industry. Strong troubleshooting and MS Office skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• PSIRA certification required.
• Valid driver’s license essential.
• Proven track record in the electronics security industry.
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.
• Strong knowledge of access control, intrusion detection and IP surveillance.
• Network knowledge advantageous.
• Experience or certification in Avigilon, Milestone, Prowatch, Risco, Ziton ZP2, Gallagher advisable.
• Excellent installation, troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance of electronic security equipment.
• Regular communication and development of good client relationships.
• Adherence to client agreements and health and safety regulations.
• Feedback to SLA Manager and project management of small projects.
• Documentation control including registers, overtime and route sheets.
• Submission of fault reports and review of Work in Progress with financial implications.
• Standby availability as required.

Job description

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Installation and Maintenance of Electronic Security Equipment;
• Regular communication and development of a good relationship with client;
• Attention to detail on all aspects of relevant responsibilities
• Adhering to the Agreement between the client and the company;
• Adhering to Health and Safety regulations;
• Feedback to SLA Manager;
• Problem Solving;
• Project Management of small projects;
• Management and Control of Documentation, including Registers, Overtime and Route Sheets;
• Submission of fault reports on the system;
• Revision of Work in Progress reports and the financial implications thereof;
• Available to be on standby if and when required;

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
• PSIRA certification;
• Valid Driver’s license;
• Proven track record in the Electronics Security Industry;
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
• Sound knowledge/experience and understanding of Access Control, Intrusion Detection and IP surveillance systems;
• Strong network knowledge would be advantageous;
• Relevant experience in SQL would be advantageous;
• Relevant certification/experience on Avigilon;
• Relevant certification/experience on Milestone
• Relevant certification/experience on Prowatch:
• Relevant certification/experience on Risco;
• Relevant certification/experience on Fire systems (Ziton ZP2);
• Relevant certification/experience on Gallager;
• Excellent security equipment installation skills;
